Hello… My name is Jim, aka "Jim G" and "Jim Gardner Live"…
I sincerely appreciate you visiting the WARRIOR Performance Collective website. My hope is that you will respond with your contact information so that we have the opportunity to build a mutually supportive relationship. My mission and passion is to serve by teaching anyone who decides to commit to being prepared to perform at their best, anytime and in any situation. I hope you will grant me the opportunity to be of service to you, somehow, someway, someday.
In 2010 I was introduced to my calling, performance coaching, and that is my purpose until I take my last breath. Other than faith and family, nothing gives me more fulfillment than challenging and guiding high performing humans to become prepared to deliver the very best of themselves anytime, under any condition.
Based on my experiences in life, personally, as a thirty-year corporate executive, now twelve years as an elite performance coach, plus the tens of thousands of hours of research and study with the best coaches, mentors, and advisors on the planet, I believe to my core that life isn’t meant to be easy. However, it’s overcoming the challenges in life that make it worth living. Physically, mentally, and emotionally embracing the struggle is the same for all hearty life forms. We see it in a plant seedling growing through a tiny crack in concrete, ultimately pushing the concrete apart as it gains strength and sustainability. We also see it in the crab that finally makes it out of the bucket, overcoming the other crabs that tried to pull it back down to be like them. It’s the disciplined challenge of relentlessly working through the pain, the suck, and the struggle, that builds strength, persistence, perspective, and the integrity of character. It’s these things that continually build a legacy and the ability to sustain the desire, focus, and energy for what I believe to be the only reason we live. That is serving others by creating value in ourselves and in them. Creating something of value isn’t ever easy, however it’s incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.
I’m one who is strong in my faith. I am a husband to my wife Lisa. I am a father and a grandfather. I’m grateful for often being told that I’m a trusted, unconditional friend. My natural traits are curiosity, learning, creating, perspective, and serving. I enjoy sports, cooking, music, especially the blues, and building stuff with my hands. I am actively involved in the leadership of an organization where Defying Impossible happens every day. The Adaptive Training Foundation (ATF) is where lives are recalibrated for those who were born with or have otherwise encountered a life experience that caused physical impairment. For an experience you’re likely to never forget, check out AdaptiveTrainingFoundation.org.
Leveraging my corporate leadership and entrepreneurial experience, I am often engaged in consulting with leaders and organizations to raise their level of performance for optimizing their capabilities and capacity to create value.
For the enjoyment of diversity, meeting amazing humans, and financial sustainability, I am involved in real estate investing and other entrepreneurial initiatives.
Those who become clients and friends are full of vitality and have an insane desire to focus on living life full out. Too many folks I meet have created their identity by what they do to earn a paycheck. When introduced, I ask people to tell me about themselves. They naturally lead off with whatever it is they do to earn a living. I’ve changed the question. Now I ask people to share with me about who they are and what they see as their purpose. I ask these questions to demonstrate that I’m curious and invested in understanding who they are as a person, what their life is about ,and how they see the world.
Back to my purpose… As a performance coach, the avatar of clients I work with don’t believe that inspiration or motivation is sustainable enough to do anything meaningful for the long game. My clients are specifically elite athletes, sports leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and senior executives with the burning desire to develop relentless, intentional, meticulous preparation practices to create the lifestyle they choose to live and the legacy they are living to leave. Their habits and practices become their physical and mental framework that prepares and enables them to always present the best of themselves in any situation.
I refer to those who work with me as WARRIORs. They learn to develop the enjoyment of preparation for optimum physical and mental performance, understanding that how they do anything is how they do everything.
Once again, my mission is to work with my clients to find the WARRIOR within them so that they can decide to commit be prepared to perform at their best, anytime and in the most adverse situations. Their new growth mindset becomes developed for the infinite game of Practicing Excellence in Defying Impossible in all that they live for and through.
Just like you, I have survived trauma and I have a story. As an adolescent living an insanely dangerous life. I barely survived high school, and did so only because a WARRIOR, a teacher, chose to invest in me for no apparent reason at the time. This enabled me, reluctantly, to start college. Although I never graduated college, I became a leader and executive for several iconic brands including McKesson, Pizza Hut, Radio Shack, Fidelity Investments, and Levi Strauss. It was my burning desire to learn and grow that built relationship capital with WARRIORs in business. These masters became my mentors. These mentors opened doors for me because they saw someone that had a passion for serving, learning, and creating value in the world.
My story has given me street cred when I work with my clients. Especially when it comes to preventing their trauma from becoming their drama and in some cases, their identity. Instead, they learn to use their struggle and suffering as a powerful foundation for perspective, intention, and courage to build their relationship capital. However, there is no progress or success without first becoming humble and grateful for what one already has.
I have a heart to give back in honor of those who stepped in, poured into my life, and otherwise gave of themselves. Since 2011, I have had the honor and pleasure to serve as a mentor at Trinity High School in Euless, Texas. I have also had the honor to serve other great organizations including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Ziglar organization, Toastmasters, and the National Speaker Association. Having written four books, I’ve been fortunate to become a three-time Amazon #1 Best Selling Author.
I believe that the journey I am traveling is for a significant purpose. My prayer and hope is that our journeys will soon join so that we can begin traveling together, serving one another and serving the world.
